FabCafe Taipei will resume its activities with the opening of a new location on June 1, 2023.

The Taiwanese branch of FabCafe has been expanding and revitalizing Taipei’s creative community since 2013 at the Huashan 1914 Creative Park, where it served as a base for students, creators, companies, and various other people to gather, exchange ideas, and make all types of things together. The branch was temporarily closed since 2021 due to the effects of Covid-19, but it will resume its activities after relocating to the Ximending district of Taipei City.

Ximending is a downtown area that attracts young people and global brands, similar to Shibuya or Harajuku in Japan. The new FabCafe Taipei is located on the edge of this vibrant district that seamlessly blends energetic dynamism and a relaxed atmosphere.

The new building is a fan-shaped four-story structure, with FabCafe on the first floor, a maker and event space on the second floor, the office of Loftwork Taiwan, which operates FabCafe Taipei, on the third floor, and a lounge space for creators and partners to stay on the fourth floor. The Taipei team looks forward to welcoming you! Read on for a thorough exploration of what each floor has to offer.

First Floor: FabCafe Taipei

A cozy café space with an exhibition area. FabCafe Taipe is currently planning various exhibitions featuring collaborative works between creators and the local industry.

Next to the event area is a workspace with various tools, machines, and materials for creative making.

Third Floor: Loftwork Taiwan Office. Fourth Floor: Creator Lounge Space

The 3rd floor is the office area for Loftwork Taiwan, and the 4th floor is a lounge area where creators can conduct research and production.

A place where you can meet people, ideas, and technology that stimulate creativity

FabCafe Taipei was established in May 2013 as the second FabCafe in the world. Initially located in the Huashan 1914 Cultural Park, a renovated Japanese colonial-era sake brewery and a popular spot designed for the development of creative industries with multiple galleries, cafes, and design stores, FabCafe Taipei has collaborated with over 500 creators and hosted more than 800 events, attracting a total of 110,000 visitors since its opening.

Before its temporary closure, FabCafe Taipei was an dynamic hub not only connecting the creative communities and companies in Japan and Taiwan, but also in Southeast Asia as a whole. With the reopening of the branch, the FabCafe global network has high expectations that it will grow into a place where people from different countries, cultures, and languages can discuss ideas over a cup of coffee with the people they meet right then and there. In the future, FabCafe Taipei plans to hold many events, such as exhibitions and talk sessions, that will allow visitors to experience and learn about global trends.
