
MTRL Producer Kazuya Ohara
Tokyo (HQ)
Originally from Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture. Joined Loftwork in 2015 and has earned the nickname Benkei. He holds a Master’s degree in Design from the Graduate School of Media and Governance at Keio University. He was part of the founding team of MTRL, a platform aimed at redefining the value of materials, and has been involved in its operations since its inception.
Currently, he serves as both Business Lead and Producer, working on the creation of material-centered projects, corporate collaborations, and new business initiatives. Ohara is also a Specially Appointed Lecturer at the Graduate School of Media Design, Keio University.
His motto is: “Life is all about mismatches.”
He is the editor and co-author of Can Fashion Be Updated? — A Roundtable on People, Clothes, and Social Process Innovation (Film Art Inc., 2015).
