Outline

Draw a way to work in the future
New business project rich with society with Okamura

Okamura Corporation, who also handles consulting and design to guide all spaces to a comfortable environment, as well as manufacturing and sales of office furniture. From the vision of "Become a company creating a new office culture in Japan," Okamura launched a project to consider new ways of working in 2015. Loftwork participates in the project from the launch period and continues to help with creating new value with Okamura's project members.

As the first step of the project, we launched a web media to send Okamura's vision and new value to the world. Its name also changes the way you view "working" and embodies the value of its own media "WORK MILL". In order to propose a modernly optimized way of working towards Japanese society, loftwork continuously supports the planning and management of "WORK MILL" from the concept design stage before launch to the present It is.

VI

The concept of the project and VI design are directed by Senior Director Shigematsu and Daisuke Sugawara of Ligh. The VI design realized a visual that meets the concept of a project that creates free thought beyond the established concept by getting inspired by the picture book Masaaki Anno’s picture book “Fujiragi Nee”.

Web media WORK MILL

From the concept that we will curate “working” from various perspectives and send out from various perspectives, not to press information such as ranking, but to touch contents in a flat feeling like turning over the magazine, Configuration that eliminated the arbitrary curation function of the operator side. Based on VI design’s blue gray, I emphasize the world view of the logo.

Process

Why did it turn out not to “work” but “to work” but “to draw a work”. In many cases “drawing” draws dreams, draws ideals, draws pictures, etc. It is used to express outstanding monotonous shapes on the inside of their own, towards the outside. We decided that the message “I will work” this time is decided on the message that “work” is not given to others.

When launching, it is not the purpose to create media but as a project of “drawing new way of working” from now on, develop a project concept with a broad perspective.

Editing policy formulation / operation

Maintaining WORK MILL’s editorial policy and original planning and operation processes, mainly on original works. In the editing policy formulation phase, as an external advisor Mori Junya of inquire Inc. is welcomed, detailed messages, messages to be disseminated by WORK MILL, the view of the world created with the target, media are finely set.

As a leader of the editing team, Hara creates various planning for continuously growing WORK MILL, such as planning sheet / editing team’s communication tool / editing conference design / monthly content strategy to fill out when creating content I did it.

In the article, we introduce the concept of “draw a way to work” with various people and subjects. Okamura and Loftwork Both companies’ editorial team brought in the subjects and theme ideas and increased the number of contents steadily while choosing something like WORK MILL.

Seikiguchi and Yoshizawa are responsible for the direction and management of articles. We are making progress while collaborating with a variety of writers and photographers making use of the network. Illustration to convey the content of the article in an easy-to-understand manner is handled by Mr. Noba Naka.

Voice

“It is the employee who works for the company that thinks and creates itself in any service or product. Considering the company with people, the products that arrive at the customer are connected to the outside, employees who make it and the working environment are likely to be the mind.

I think that WORK MILL is thinking about the company's mind, but it is not exaggerated. Many people, a variety of companies, various working environments should also be various.

I would like you to find various works from angles that you can freely predict like this stereoscopic logo, freed from gravity like a magical picture.”

Daisuke Sugawara Ligh. Graphic designer / art director

“The important thing in running the media is to share the purpose and feelings of the people involved. This time, I have repeated discussions and workshops over several times, and I got a deep understanding of the members involved in the project. After that, I will actually shape it as a medium. Support for that was my role.

If the world view and concept are determined to some extent, we will formulate editing policies and content while prototyping. Think of the content plan based on the editorial policy and reflect the specific content plan born in the editorial policy. While coming back and forth, I helped to brush up each one. The way we work is an important theme for me. Through WORK MILL, I am happy that people who can draw new ways of working will increase to Japan.”

Mori Junya Representative Director of inquire Inc.

“WORK MILL's article focuses on people interviewing challenging new approaches with "job" as a key word. It is a manuscript that spells unique ideas and experiences of coverage, so I always read it happily.

Since all articles of WORK MILL are new contents not applicable to existing models, the process of visualizing with an illustration is not easy. Illustrator must understand the article deeply, and finally beyond several hurdles such as which sentence should be an illustration, which keyword should be emphasized, what kind of metaphor should be used, etc. Finally, You can draw.

Every time, I create it while my loft work and Okamura's editorial team are helping me out of my understanding. I'm happy if Illustration of WORK MILL deepens the impression of the article and encourages understanding.”
