

Layout CLO(Chief Layout Officer) Hajime Matsui
Born in 1982. Studied architecture at a vocational school and urban planning at university. Founded the community development group Yokosukan in his hometown of Yokosuka. After graduating, he joined an internet venture where he gained experience in launching new businesses, simultaneously opening markets in 12 cities across Japan, and managing operations.
In 2012, he joined Loftwork, where he was involved in producing projects such as 100BANCH, SHIBUYA QWS, and AkeruE. Since 2017, he has been leading the Layout Unit, a business focused on cities and spatial design. He has had a strong interest in fostering communities that bridge the online and physical worlds since his student days. In 2021, he was appointed Visiting Professor in the Department of Spatial Design at Kyoto University of the Arts. His nickname is Hajime-chan.
